Riding A Dream Academy are running another course supporting young people from under-represented backgrounds gain access to racing. It will be an introductory course to British Racing for young people aged 14-18 who have little or no experience of riding or working with horses and will be held at the British Racing School (Ofsted rated outstanding) from 24-28th October. The aim of the course is to provide access to horses and future career opportunities for young people even if they didn't have any riding experience.

The course will be a fully funded residential with a focus on how to look after racehorses; horse handling skills including grooming, looking after etc, as well as finding out lots about the sport via behind the scenes trips to studs; yards; racecourses and vets etc. At 16 young people can go onto the Foundation Course at the British Racing School for an 18 week course where they will learn to ride racehorses so this residential is a really good introduction for them.
There is more information here www.ridingadreamacademy.com/introductoryweek and the closing date is Wednesday 21st September. Whilst this is a different course, to those we've previously posted about, the video below gives an idea of what the Academy is like from their students. The academy particularly welcome applications from students from diverse communities.
