VOLUNTEER
Thank you for your interest in volunteering here at The Avon Centre. We want all our volunteers to have the best experience possible. As well as being able to use and build on your skills, we want you to feel that you are part of our community, have fun working here and make friends.
You will be a valuable member of our team, supporting us to deliver our services to Disabled and Disadvantaged people in Bristol and the surrounding areas.
Areas to volunteer in include:
-
Yard - Helping on the stable yard to look after the horses
-
Arena – Supporting riders during their RDA sessions
-
Pony Interaction Sessions – Supporting our Beyond the Gait programme
-
Estate – Land tasks e.g. fence building and maintenance
-
Reception – Greeting riders and visitors, answering the phone and admin support
-
Events – Helping with Sunday events - A good one if you can’t commit regularly
-
Forest School - Our forest school is up and running, as of September 2025. We are looking for people with childcare experience and who love being outdoors and supporting children to have fun and take risks! Click here to learn more.

Please complete the form below to volunteer with us and we will be in touch when we have a volunteering role that matches your skills and availability. Due to low staff numbers we are presently unable to offer supported volunteering for people who need extra help but we hope to be in a position to do so soon. We can only take on volunteers aged 14 and over. For forest school volunteering the form is here.
We are a small team in the office and it may take a little while before we contact you. Thank you for your patience. In the meantime please sign up to our newsletter to keep up to date with what's happening at the Centre.
