Live, Laugh, Love!

It's L week!

Looking towards February Half Term!

We know that term has only just started, but we like to be organised so we have already advertised some half term activities on EC Pro. There are ARC sessions, including pony days, hacks, private lessons and more. We also have Fun in the Forest sessions which include outdoor activities, arts and crafts and some Shetland pony time! Have a look at the "What's On Calendar" to book, or give us a call.

Leaping into Show Jumping!

See what I did there? Leaping and jumping? I know.

RDA Show Jumping Day at The Avon Centre on Friday 20th February 2026 (Half term)

Our next Show Jumping competition has been organised for riders from the Avon Centre and any other RDA Groups within our Mid West Region that would like to participate.

There will be a total of six Classes to suit riders with a wide range of experience from those doing their first SJ Class to some that are used to competing at Regional & National level. Please note: entries will be limited in Class 6 therefore early booking is advised.

Entries open for all classes on Monday January 26th.

Competition entries should be made through ‘Events’ EC Pro as before.

Class 1 SJ Level 3+ – walk, trot & canter

Class 2 SJ Level 3 – walk, trot & canter

Class 3 SJ Level 2 – walk & trot (ridden independently)

Class 4 Prix Caprilli – walk and trot (max height of jumps 15 cms)

Class 5 Prix Caprilli – walk, trot & canter (max height of jumps 30 cms)

Class 6 SJ Level 1 – walk only (ridden independently or accompanied off lead rein outside the ‘jumps’)

We will be taking into account the number of entries for each Class in deciding whether to run all the Classes. Riders will be expected to be ready and prepared to start their test on time.

Where possible riders should wear a jacket, shirt & tie and light coloured jodhpurs, however if this is not possible they are welcome to wear their normal riding clothes and Group sweatshirts because this is a competition to encourage all.

Competition entries should be made through ‘Events’ ECPro as before.

The entry fee will be £14 plus £16 horse hire per rider per Class. If the class is showing as full, please let me know (RDAKim@theavoncentre.org.uk ) as I may be able to help.

Please discuss which Class might be most suitable for you with your coach, before booking.

Entries open on Monday January 26th

It is possible that we will be able to offer some shared private lessons for L2 and 3 during the half term week, but will expect L1 riders to practice during their lessons as before.

Refreshments will be available on the day.

(We will be putting a call out for cakes nearer the time!)

Layers!

It is very cold at the moment, and as you are aware, we do not have central heating in the arena, so please dress warmly for your lessons. Also remember, we ride outside whatever the weather, so please wear appropriate clothing, including waterproofs on wet days! Roll on summer!
