Zooming towards half term!
RDA end of term 1 is nearly here (24th October), we restart on Tuesday 3rd Nov. Please make sure you dress weather appropriately, with gloves if possible, particularly as things are getting colder and wetter. Don't worry if you think you'll miss your riding fix, as we have an RDA competition on Friday 30th. Speak to your coach if you'd like to enter. And as always, we will need cakes. Given that it's Z week, how about a zesty lemon drizzle? But really, any cake is fine. We love cake.

Zigzag Around the Works: Road Distruptions Starting 19th October
ROAD CLOSURE
Location: Long Cross
Works: BCC – Pothole Repairs
Duration & Dates: 1 day, Monday 2nd November
Times: 10:00 – 14:00
Works Ref: Permit Application to be done shortly
The potholes in question are directly in the traffic calming section of Long Cross and as such, traffic signals or other forms of traffic management are not suitable due to the narrow carriageway width. Works times have been set to not impact the morning or afternoon school-runs. We are aware that the previous week is half term, however other works requiring resource that week render this job unachievable for half term.
Works Location:

⚠️ Upcoming Road Disruption Near Blaise Castle (Starts Monday, 19th October)
If you are planning to travel through Henbury or visit the Blaise Castle Estate over the next fortnight, please be aware of upcoming roadworks that will impact local traffic and estate access.
To minimize disruption to school transport, Wales & West Utilities has scheduled essential utility works to take place over the school half-term holidays.
📅 Key Details:
Start Date: Monday, 19th October 2026
Expected Duration: Approximately 2 weeks
Location: Hallen Road (at the top junction near the Blaise Castle Estate gates)
🚗 What is changing?
Lane Closure: The right-hand slip road heading down Hallen Road (as you drive through the old village past the Blaise Castle area) will be temporarily closed.
Restricted Estate Access: This closure will heavily restrict normal entry and exit for residents and visitors using Battersby Way, Castle Close, Hallen Close, and Blaise Hamlet.
Diversions: Traffic will be redirected via the alternate slip roads and surrounding turnings to navigate around the old Henbury village area.
📍 Live Traffic & Location Map
Use the interactive map below to view the affected junction and plan your alternate route. Avoid the immediate area during peak travel times if possible, and allow extra time for your journey.
