Volunteer & Community Liaison Officer
Volunteer Management and Coordination

Assess the need for volunteers across the Centre: including RDA & Beyond the Gait (non-ridden Equine Facilitated Learning), Stable Yard and other horse-related support, Fundraising & Events, Marketing & Communications and the Estate.

Develop and implement a volunteer strategy to include:

Attracting, onboarding, engaging and retaining new volunteers

Broadening our existing volunteer base and increasing diversity
-
Building further community outreach
-
Social Prescribing
-
Create, monitor and evaluate activities to assess impact.
-
Create and maintain a volunteer database.
-
Research, update and develop volunteer guidance and policies and procedures.

Develop ways to recognise, celebrate and value the work of TAC volunteers.
-
Offer advice and information to volunteers through face to face, telephone and email contact.

Manage volunteer communications and social events.
Profile Raising and Networking

Raise awareness of TAC to the community of Bristol, strengthening existing relationships and developing new leads to further support the work of The Avon Centre
-
Liaise with employers and industry and educational bodies to promote the work of the charity wherever necessary and create feeds for Centre offerings

Health & Safety, Safeguarding

Keep up to date with legislation and policy relating to volunteering.

Ensure that Centre safety guidelines and policies and fire regulations are understood and followed by all volunteers.

Undertake all work having regard to your own safety and the safety of others, wearing appropriate safety apparel and equipment as necessary.

Report accidents/incidents promptly and accurately in accordance with procedures.
-
Report any concerns regarding the safety of a child or vulnerable adult to the Safeguarding Officer immediately.
